WAS KILLED
No one has been held accountable.
On September 6, 2024, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi — a 26-year-old American-Turkish activist from Seattle — was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper near Beita, in the occupied West Bank. She was participating in a nonviolent protest against illegal settlement expansion on Palestinian land as a human rights observer.
Aysenur was a member of the International Solidarity Movement, a graduate of the University of Washington, and a tireless advocate for human rights. She had traveled to Palestine to bear witness and stand in solidarity.
The United States government has yet to pursue meaningful accountability. No charges have been filed. No officials have faced consequences. We refuse to let her death be buried under silence and diplomatic inaction.
